The Lord Bute Hotel and Restaurant

The Lord Bute Hotel is nestled at the edge of the New Forest on the Dorset/Hampshire border, and was home to Lord Bute, the Prime Minister of England from 1762–1763. With Highcliffe Castle nearby, and the beautiful beaches that run all the way past Bournemouth to Sandbanks on the doorstep, the Lord Bute is an ideal place to stop and enjoy fine food and pleasant surroundings.

Set in the classical style of the original building with warm muted golden walls, Venetian mirrors, sepia photographs of lodge and castle at the turn of the century, The Lord Bute restaurant provides a charming ambience, and a standard of service befitting of the 2 Rosettes awarded by the AA in 2008.

The Lord Bute Restaurant’s award-winning chefs produce imaginative menus, guaranteed to satisfy every palate and served by silver service waiting staff. There is also a vast range of fine wines to compliment the adventurous menu.
Diners can enjoy their meal in the air-conditioned dining room to the smooth sounds of either a pianist (Saturday pm/Sunday lunch), saxophonist (Friday pm) or dinner jazz night (Wednesday – including a special menu) – guaranteed to turn dinner into a evening to remember for years to come. The Lord Bute also hosts occasional cabaret evenings – see website for details.
