The Terrace Restaurant at The Montagu Arms Hotel
In the picturesque setting of Beaulieu Village, The Terrace Restaurant at the Montagu Arms pays homage to both tradition and innovation, offering a variety of delectable dishes in a distinctively sophisticated English setting.
With a history dating back to 1742, the traditional character of this country house hotel is reflected through the old brick fireplace and its roaring open fires. The picturesque gardens offer a pleasant diversion during the summer months and add to the lovely atmosphere.
The menu, created by Roux scholar and Michelin starred Chef Matthew Tomkinson, uses only the finest quality seasonal ingredients, which are, as far as possible, local, free-range and organic. The Hotel has a food policy that aims to ensure that meat supplied to the restaurants meets the highest ethical criteria. The exemplary standard of award-winning cuisine and fine wines has been reflected by the accolade of having been voted “Hampshire Restaurant of the year 2008” by Which? Good Food Guide.
According to Area General Manager, James Hiley-Jones: “We believe it is important to know where our produce comes from. This is a way to get to know the community, meet our suppliers and enrich our understanding of local produce”. Many of their suppliers carry the New Forest Marque ensuring that local produce also meets stringent standards.
The Terrace restaurant is well known for its extensive wine list including organic, un-oaked and prestigious wines and champagnes, and wine experts are on hand to help suggest the perfect choice to complement your meal.
